After ten years of living and working in Barcelona, Julie moved to Vilassar de Mar where she continues to develop her work as a photographer. Surrounded by the sea, the mountains, and a vibrant network of small businesses, she found a renewed sense of purpose in connecting with her immediate surroundings. This new chapter led her to specialise in working with local entrepreneurs, artisans, and independent projects, offering them photography that is close, honest, and rooted in real stories.

Julie defines herself as a “fotògrafa de proximitat” — a proximity photographer — because her approach is centred on relationships, presence, and community. Rather than creating staged or overly polished imagery, she focuses on capturing the essence of the people behind each project, the atmosphere of a space, and the rhythm of daily life. Her goal is to become a visual storyteller for those who bring life to the Maresme through their businesses, activities, and ideas.

Whether it’s portraits, everyday moments or special events, Julie brings sensitivity and respect to her work, helping local initiatives gain visibility through images that reflect their true values — with sincerity, care, and a deep appreciation for the human connection at the heart of it all.

For me, photography is about being present — noticing the quiet, human details that make each story unique. It’s not just about taking pictures, it’s about being part of the community I photograph.
