Maresme’s Top 10 Chiringuitos

Nothing underlines the Mediterranean lifestyle like food and cocktails beside the sea, or in the case of the chic chiringuitos lining the sands on the trendy Maresme Coast just north of Barcelona, food and cocktails actually on the beach.

Whether it’s a fun family lunch or a session of more serious socialising as the sun goes down and the music goes up, the area’s vibrant chiringuito culture has something for everyone.

So why not pack up your beach bag, put on your shades and get ready to eat, drink and feel the sand between your toes as you explore our list of top Maresme chringuitos.

But remember to book – they can get very busy, especially at weekends.

Xiringuito Acamar, Cabrera de Mar

Highly recommended for a wide selection of tapas and main dishes, especially the seafood, Acamar is also a great place to relax and enjoy live music. They’ve got a plethora of deckchairs and loungers just in front of the chiringuito facing the sea, ideal for people-watching whilst sipping a cool beer before lunch or dinner! Easy to get to from Cabrera de Mar station. Service overall is good although can be slightly chaotic in the height of summer!
