Fred Vilatte is a tour guide in Maresme, originally from France and has been living in Barcelona since 2009. After a few years working in different domains, he decided in 2019 to share his love and knowledge about Barcelona and Catalunya by starting to work as a guide. He has recently become Maresme Connect’s go-to hiking guide in the Serralada Litoral. He takes small groups off the beaten track on guided hikes ending with a picnic or a lunch at a designated destination.

The Serralada Litoral is a picturesque mountain range located in the Maresme region. Stretching along the Mediterranean coast, from Premià de Dalt in the south to La Roca del Vallès in the north, this range is renowned for its rolling hills, lush forests, and stunning panoramic views of the coastline.

Rich in biodiversity, it is home to a variety of flora and fauna, as well as historical landmarks, such as the ancient Iberian settlement of  Puig Castellar and the medieval Montsant Castle ruins. Nature lovers can explore the Montnegre i el Corredor Natural Park, which protects much of the range’s unique ecosystems, including cork oak and pine forests. The Serralada Litoral is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, cyclists, and history enthusiasts alike.

Fred is always happy to share his passion about the local history and the beautiful countryside and all the different aspects of Catalunya that makes it so special.
