Escola de Mar

Escola de Mar is a nautical school in the coastal town of Montgat. Their mission is to promote sailing and other nautical activities as social and cultural tools. They strongly value maritime heritage in an environmentally safe and coherent way. The programme’s educational process encourages placing emotions at the forefront and strives for cooperation between all colleagues and students in order to establish a basis of individual awareness. Escola de Mar partners the Club Marítim Montgat, an entity that also works to promote access to the sea in a responsible manner. 

This nautical school offers a wide variety of activities for all ages. For children and young people, there are camps and individual activities such as sailing, surfing, paddle boarding, skimboarding, kayaking, and more. Groups are dispersed based upon age, level, and concerns and prices vary depending on the package you select. Activities are available to young adults every day so you can advance in watersports at your own pace.  The Mar Campus is also used almost every day for summer camps where children have the opportunity to learn about sailing, rowing, and paddle boarding in a fun way. Other activities available at the camp include snorkelling, beach games, crafts and more.   

When you purchase specific packages you have the option to choose from different courses of water sports such as catamaran sailing, Catalan skate sailing, windsurfing, wing foiling, surfing, and paddle boarding. Each of these sessions includes free gear, accident insurance, the use of changing rooms and lockers, as well asguidance from a qualified instructor. If you already know how to sail or operate other boating equipment then you have the option to rent a boat or other boating equipment for up to 10 hours at a time.
