Poetry spaces, Alella
As part of the poetry spaces series here are the offerings for April in Alella
Thursday, April 3, 2025
7:30 p.m. – Ferrer i Guàrdia Library
Book club. Me, us, by Josefina Maymó
Accompanied by Tònia Minguet Pla, we will talk about the poem collection Me, us, about writing (and writing ourselves), understood as this continuous digging to find who we are, despite the weaknesses and ephemerality that accompany us. And it is also poetry that talks about poetry, that asks questions knowing that there will be no answer. A gesture of gratitude runs through the book, towards the fact of being here, towards those who have preceded us, and with the awareness of knowing that we are a link.
Activity scheduled with the Ferrer i Guàrdia Library.

7 p.m. – Can Manyé
Recital. La nit ovípara, by Maria Sevilla
Maria Sevilla Paris, poet, writer and teacher, will present her latest collection of poems, La nit ovípara, a warning about the dangers of the modern world. It is a story of fear and hypochondriac persecution; Lovecraftian; it is the cry of someone who questions the reproductive, proliferating logic of living organisms and tries to limit them. However, it is also an apology for all forms of life, especially those that flee from hegemonic categories; her observation serves to denounce the human practices that lead us to extinction: capitalism, fascism, speciesism. In the midst of this irreverence, the surrender to a love stripped of conventionalisms.
Maria Sevilla Paris (Badalona, 1990): Her first collection of poems, Dents de pulpa (Adia Edicions, 2015), won the Bernat Vidal Prize; This was followed by the collections Kalàixnikov (Món de Llibres, Premi Ciutat de Manacor 2017), If true: false; else, true (Fonoll, Premi Carles Hac Mor d’Escriptura Subversiva 2020) and Plastilina (Fonoll, 2020). This 2024 she published No desdejarás els béns del proïsme, within the essay series “Deu Manaments”, from the publisher Fragmenta, and her latest poetry collection La nit ovípara
She is also the author of several sound poetry actions. Since 2019 she has been one of the programmers of Horiginal, the longest-running recital workshop –since 2001– in Barcelona.

Concert. “Considerations on the inevitable resonance”, with Xavi Lloses
On the occasion of the exhibition “Tot penga d’un fil”, by Xavi Lloses at the Can Manyé Art and Creation Center, the Espais de Poesia festival proposes a sonic experience by musician Xavi Lloses and visual artist Àlex Pallí.
Starting from a series of collages of voiceovers taken from documentaries, radio, television news and films, both construct a plot, sound and musical thread that reflects on what and how we listen, and the possible meanings we give to what we call music. A mind-blowing journey through hypnotic and curious soundscapes intertwined with the latest music distilled from Xavi Lloses’ laboratory. We can stop looking, but we can’t help but feel.
