International Women’s Day Event, Arenys del Munt

On 8th March, Arenys de Munt will commemorate International Women’s Day at Plaça de l’Església, defending the social, political and economic rights of women and demanding gender equality. This year’s theme focuses on feminist genealogy, honouring the women who paved the way for today’s movements.

The event will also highlight the contributions of women, from well-known feminists to local figures such as mothers, grandmothers, teachers, and businesswomen.

The Ajuntament of Arenys de Munt invites everyone to join this festive and reflective gathering, which will include a manifesto reading, a tribute to feminist role models, and the interactive event “What a Feminist!”. Students from Escola Sant Martí and Escola Sobirans will contribute to a collective art installation, displaying their artwork in the square.  Participants will have the opportunity to win a basket of local produce, and the first 50 attendees will also receive a lavender gift.
