From February 6 to 9, the Maria Roser Carrau Cultural Hall will be the setting for the first Women and Cinema Cycle in Vilassar de Mar, a free initiative jointly organized by the City Council and the local entities Viladona, the Vilassar de Mar Feminist Assembly and the Cinema Platform. This event aims to give visibility to films directed by women of various nationalities and with women as protagonists. Among the themes, the stories of survival and the fight against sexist violence, the claim of the right to decent housing, personal experiences in the face of social expectations, the search for identity and independence during adolescence, as well as historical memory and mourning after the war. The program includes seven screenings aimed at all ages, including a children’s session.

This series invites you to reflect on social and cultural issues from the perspective of women and discover new voices in cinema.
